Sean Payton isn't going anywhere, according to NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi.
Darlington: Coaches lack loyalty
Sean Payton might not bolt the Saints for the Cowboys, but it won't be because of loyalty, Jeff Darlington writes. **More ...**
The New Orleans Saints coach signed a contract extension in 2011, but the NFL voided it because of language in the deal. Many have speculated that Payton could sign with the Dallas Cowboys after the season. He was an assistant in Dallas from 2003 to '05 and his family lives in the area. Payton has expressed his love for Dallas.
"I don't see Sean Payton not coaching the New Orleans Saints in 2013," Lombardi said.
Lombardi pointed to a couple reasons. Payton wants to work with general manager Mickey Loomis. And they had already come to an agreement about the money and other contract details.
Lombardi just doesn't see Peyton abandoning the Saints organization after everything they went through when he was obviously happy enough to sign an extention last year.
But never say never in the NFL.
