OWINGS MILLS, Md. -- Veteran kicker Matt Stover says he's no longer in the Baltimore Ravens' plans.
Stover said Thursday night that when he approached team officials Monday to tell them about a free-agent offer to kick for the New York Jets, they responded by telling the 41-year-old that they are "going in a different direction."
Now, Stover's intentions are to keep his options open and possibly continue playing.
In 18 NFL seasons, Stover has made 462 of 552 field-goal attempt and hit 558 of 561 career extra-point tries for a 99.5 conversion percentage. He statred his career with the Cleveland Browns in 1991, then moved with the team to Baltimore in 1996 when it became the Ravens.
Stover was the last remaining Raven to have made the move from Cleveland.
