The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are in for another offseason makeover, but they are keeping one player around for the future.
The team announced Friday it reached an agreement with receiver Louis Murphy on a three-year contract extension. Murphy was set to be a free agent in March. Terms of the deal weren't announced.
Murphy started three games in 2014, catching 31 passes for 380 yards and two touchdowns in 11 appearances before being placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
The speedy Murphy is a good complement to dynamic, Offensive Rookie of the Year candidate Mike Evans and veteran Vincent Jackson.
With Jackson's future in Tampa in question heading into the offseason, Murphy could be in for a bigger role in 2015 alongside Evans.
