Green Bay Packers safety M.D. Jennings started 10 games in 2012, had 52 tackles and a 72-yard interception return for a touchdown. However, people only want to talk about one play: the "Fail Mary".
"Man, everywhere I go it always comes up," Jennings recently told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "If I'm out somewhere and somebody recognizes me, it's always about the Monday night play. ... I wanted to go out there and make another play because I don't want that to be how everybody remembers me."
Brandt: NFL's top power brokers
Gil Brandt ranks the NFL's best decision makers. While general managers rule the list, two head coaches make the cut. **More ...**
You remember the Week 3 play from last season: Jennings snagged a would-be game-ending interception off a Russell Wilson heave that was called a Golden Tate touchdown by a replacement referee. The Seattle Seahawks beat the Packers 14-12.
Not only is that play all fans want to talk to Jennings about -- not his battle for a starting safety spot -- but the third-year pro says most people get the play wrong when they talk to him.
"I won't say they don't know football," said Jennings. "But they'll say, 'We know you caught that ball, it was a touchdown.' They keep saying it was a touchdown. You know, I just go along with it."
