Our sun will rise tomorrow and Andrew Luck will go No. 1 to the Colts. Equally valid, according to many, but could Indy pull a surprise?
Mike Shanahan and the Redskins were front and center to watch their Mr. Everything, Robert Griffin III, put on a killer display at Baylor's Pro Day on Wednesday. When it was over, NFL.com's Gil Brandt openly asked if the presumed No. 2 pick behind Stanford's Luck should be considered in play for Indy.
A thick contingent of Colts personnel was on hand Wednesday to view RG3, which in itself is no surprise. Luck's been linked to the Colts since about Week 2 of last season, but Indy's front office will leave no stone unturned in finding Peyton Manning's successor.
"I think it's a healthy conversation," Mike Mayock told NFL Network on Wednesday. "I think behind the confines of your building, it's a conversation (the Colts) have to have.
"I mean, this is the future of both their respective franchises. Each one of these kids is going to be the face of the franchise, hopefully, for the next 10 years or so, so you better get it right."
Mayock continued: "Bottom line to me: I think Indy's definitely going to take Andrew Luck. I think Washington's excited to get RG3, and I think both of those franchises will be tied at the hip with their respective quarterbacks."
