Washington Redskins coach Mike Shanahan's press conferences have been bland for most of his career. With his team crumbling around him, Shanahan's last few sessions have been tense and fascinating.
Following Sunday's 27-26 meltdown against the Atlanta Falcons, Shanahan was teed up by reporters with a few early softballs.
"I've never been involved with a team that had seven turnovers and had a chance to win it. So I'm very pleased with the effort," Shanahan said in response to a question about effort.
... And then the reporters tried to ask about Shanahan's job security. He refused to answer one question on the topic. A little later, Shanahan was asked if he's doing anything to stop all the reports coming out about his job status.
