It's curtains for Mike Williams.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Monday that the fourth-year wide receiver has been placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Williams told reporters last week that he tore his hamstring after initially injuring the leg during Tampa's Week 4 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. He continued to play through the pain, but the Bucs were concerned about where that might lead.
It's a disappointing end to the first leg of the six-year, $40.25 million contract extension Williams signed in the offseason. He finishes 2013 with 22 receptions, 216 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
The loss of Williams doesn't make life any easier for rookie passer Mike Glennon, who's tasked with finding Tampa's first win in what's shaping up as a lost campaign.
