The Dallas Cowboys' losing skid hit six sans Tony Romo this week.
The signal-caller is eligible to return in Week 11, which means the Cowboys must endure at at least one more game against a frisky Tampa Bay Buccaneers squad before their miracle-working quarterback can return to perhaps lead them on a magical run in a limp NFC East.
Defensive end Jeremy Mincey said Tuesday that the Cowboys can't bank on Romo's return to save the season.
"We can't sit and wait on Romo," Mincey said, via the Fort Worth Star Telegram. "He's not Jesus. We can't sit and wait on him. There are games we could have easily won without him being there. We have to be sharper and take advantage of every play and every opportunity to make something happen. There are no excuses to how we are playing. We have to get better. It's our fault. We have to suck it up, keep going and get better."
Dallas has played 21 games without Romo since he became starter in 2006. With Romo they are 77-48 (.616). Without Romo, 6-15 (.286) -- lost their last eight games sans the signal-caller.
He isn't Jesus, but lordy do the Cowboys need someone to turn two wins into a multitude in short order.
