Moore says comments by Holmes 'fragments' Jets' locker room

Brandon Moore has had enough of Santonio Holmes' criticism of the Jets' beleaguered offensive line.

Moore is known as a quiet leader, but the veteran guard reached a breaking point following Holmes' latest comments that the problems of the 2-3 Jets lie at the feet of the offensive line.

Jets fighting off the laughs

When they're not fighting with themselves, the Jets have been busy laughing off Brandon Marshall's recent headline-making comments. **More ...**

"He's obviously got the green light to evaluate every position on the team," Moore said Friday, according to ESPNNewYork.com. "I just didn't think captaincy entailed that. I've never seen a captain do that. That's not leading. That's not being a leader. It actually fragments the locker room. It's not productive."

This is obviously becoming a snowball situation for Rex Ryan, who said earlier Friday he didn't take issue with Holmes' most recent comments. Ryan also told the media that the offensive line didn't have an issue with Holmes' comments (they have "armadillo skin" was his exact comment), something that was obviously false in Moore's case.

"I don't know, some guys might side with (Holmes)," Moore said. "(It's that) that attitude of, 'I'm doing everything right and the blame goes on everybody else.' I'm sure guys are thinking like that, the selfish guys.

"I've just never seen anything like this."

Ryan can't spin it anymore, his locker room is fractured primarily due to a player he named as a captain prior to the season. With a virtual must-win game coming up Monday against the Miami Dolphins, the drama enveloping Florham Park couldn't have come at a worse time.
