Some moments are much bigger than football.
That was the case Saturday when the mother of USC's Adoree' Jackson, Vianca Jackson, interrupted a post-game interview to embrace the All-Pac-12 cornerback after a 45-7 win over Utah State. But this was no ordinary post-game hug.
Jackson's mother revealed she missed Jackson's games last year following a breast cancer diagnosis.
"I wasn't able to come to no games last year. I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. But God, he saved me in four months," she said. "He gave me back to my baby, so I can see every game and I can be the proudest momma ... I'm so proud of my son. I'm so proud of you, baby."
And what better way for Jackson to welcome his mom back to the L.A. Coliseum than with a punt return ending up as a 77-yard touchdown? It was one of many scores in a 45-7 rout of Utah State, but for the Jackson family, the junior's first touchdown of the season came with ideal timing.
