N.C. State's Dave Doeren sorry for saying FSU faked injuries

North Carolina State coach Dave Doeren on Tuesday morning tweeted an apology for saying Florida State faked injuries in an attempt to slow the Wolfpack's offense on Saturday.

"I have apologized to Jimbo Fisher & want to apologize to his staff, players & FSU fans for my comments that took away from a tremendous football game," Doeren said in a series of tweets. "I left an emotional locker room & took those emotions w/ me to the press conference. It was a great college football game with tremendous plays made by both teams. That is where the focus deserves to be. I have the utmost respect for Jimbo, his staff and players. FSU played a great game and earned the win."

North Carolina State built a 24-7 first-quarter lead, but FSU rallied behind quarterback Jameis Winston and won 56-41.

Fisher was asked Monday about Doeren's accusation that FSU faked injuries.

"I accuse him of not knowing what he's talking about," Fisher said. "We did not fake injuries. We wouldn't do that."
