NAPA, Calif. -- The Napa County district attorney says he will announce his decision Thursday on whether to file charges against Oakland Raiders coach Tom Cable for allegedly assaulting one of his assistants.
Gary Lieberstein says his decision should be announced at a 6:30 p.m. ET news conference.
Cable was accused of attacking Randy Hanson on Aug. 5 during a meeting at the team's training-camp hotel in Napa. Hanson went to the hospital to be treated for a broken jaw, but he didn't immediately tell authorities who assaulted him.
Hanson eventually cooperated with police. The police forwarded their investigation to Lieberstein's office earlier this month.
Cable has denied the allegations. He said after practice Thursday that he didn't know what the DA would do.
