The Minnesota Vikings headed to the South to continue their workouts of draft-eligible quarterbacks this week, with sessions with Florida State's Christian Ponder and Auburn's Cam Newton.
Members of the Vikings' staff are working out Ponder on Tuesday in Tallahassee, Fla., then will head to Auburn, Ala., to put Newton, the 2010 Heisman Trophy winner, through the paces.
The Vikings possess the 12th overall pick in the draft, which begins April 28 on NFL Network.
The Vikingspreviously worked out Washington quarterback Jake Locker on March 15, according to NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.
Locker is the 20th-rated player on NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock's list of top prospects, while Newton is 21st.
