NFL.com receives first-ever nomination;
92 Emmys and counting for NFL Films;
Inside the NFL tops show nominees
NFL Network, NFL Films and NFL.com recorded 15 Sports Emmy Award nominations, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences announced today. This marks the most Sports Emmy nominations the NFL has received in one year.
Among the nominations are the first-ever for NFL.com, which earned recognition for its NFL.com LIVE coverage of NFL Network’s Thursday and Saturday Night Football and its Anatomy of a Play, a short-form 360-degree analysis of key plays of the week.
NFL Network’s critically acclaimed series America’s Game: The Super Bowl Champions continued its success of last year, earning two nominations including one for Outstanding Edited Sports Series/Anthology.
Inside the NFL, produced by HBO and NFL Films, was the most-nominated show.
NFL Films’ Road to the Super Bowl, the longest-running (33 years, 1974 debut) and most honored (28 Sports Emmys) annual sports special, also garnered two nominations. NFL Films has earned 92 Sports Emmys.
The 29th Annual Sports Emmys Awards will be presented on Monday, April 28 in New York City at Rose Hall at Lincoln Center.
