The NFL will announce the AFC and NFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week during Wednesday's "NFL AM" on NFL Network. "NFL AM" airs at 6 a.m. ET and re-airs at 10 a.m. ET.
Teams submit their own nominees for weekly honors. Here are Week 8's nominees:
AFC Offensive Player of the Week
Andy Dalton, QB: Completed 19 of 30 passes for 325 yards and five touchdowns in the Cincinnati Bengals' 49-9 win over the New York Jets.
Josh Gordon, WR: Had five receptions for 132 yards, including a 39-yard touchdown catch in the Cleveland Browns' 23-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Marvin Jones, WR: Had eight receptions for 122 yards and four touchdowns in the Cincinnati Bengals' 49-9 win over the New York Jets.
AFC Defensive Player of the Week
Vontaze Burfict, LB: Recorded 11 tackles and one pass defensed in the Cincinnati Bengals' 49-9 win over the New York Jets.
Dont'a Hightower, LB: Had 10 tackles and one sack in the New England Patriots' 27-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Derrick Johnson, LB: Had 12 tackles and one pass defensed in the Kansas City Chiefs' 23-17 win over the Cleveland Browns.
Sio Moore, LB: Had five tackles and two sacks in the Oakland Raiders' 21-18 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Jared Odrick, DT: Had four tackles and two sacks in the Miami Dolphins' 27-17 loss to the New England Patriots.
Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, CB: Had five tackles, one tackle for a loss, three passes defensed and a 75-yard interception-return touchdown in the Denver Broncos' 45-21 win over the Washington Redskins.
Kyle Williams, DT: Had nine tackles and 1.5 sacks in the Buffalo Bills' 35-17 loss to the New Orleans Saints.
AFC Special Teams Player of the Week
Stephen Gostkowski, K: Connected on both field-goal attempts (34, 48 yards) in the New England Patriots' 27-17 win over the Miami Dolphins.
Brandon Tate, KR: Returned four kickoffs for 133 yards, including a 71-yard return in the Cincinnati Bengals' 49-9 win over the New York Jets.
Ryan Succop, K: Connected on three of four field-goal attempts (42, 35 and 40 yards) in the Kansas City Chiefs' 23-17 win over the Cleveland Browns.
NFC Offensive Player of the Week
Drew Brees, QB: Completed 26 of 34 passes for 332 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions in the New Orleans Saints' 35-17 win over the Buffalo Bills.
Andre Ellington, RB: Rushed for 154 yards, including an 80-yard touchdown in the Arizona Cardinals' 27-13 win over the Atlanta Falcons.
Frank Gore, RB: Rushed for two touchdowns and 71 yards in the San Francisco 49ers' 42-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Calvin Johnson, WR: Had 14 catches for 329 yards and a touchdown in the Detroit Lions' 31-30 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Colin Kaepernick, QB: Scored three touchdowns (two rushing, one passing) in the San Francisco 49ers' 42-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
NFC Defensive Player of the Week
Mike Daniels, DE: Had two sacks and three tackles in the Green Bay Packers' 44-31 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Bruce Irvin, LB: Had nine tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and one interception in the Seattle Seahawks' 14-9 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Charles Johnson, DE: Had two sacks in the Carolina Panthers' 31-13 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Sean Lee, LB: Had 10 tackles and two interceptions (for 89 yards in returns) in the Dallas Cowboys' 31-30 loss to the Detroit Lions.
NFC Special Teams Player of the Week
Josh Brown, K: Converted all five field-goal attempts and scored all of his team's points in the New York Giants' 15-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Micah Hyde, PR: Had a 93-yard punt-return touchdown in the Green Bay Packers' 44-31 win over the Minnesota Vikings.
Cordarrelle Patterson, WR/KR: Had 228 yards in kickoff returns, including an NFL record 109-yard touchdown return, in the Minnesota Vikings' 44-31 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
