  • Chicago wants to interview Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman for its HC vacancy, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported Sunday. Freeman is currently coaching the Fighting Irish in the College Football Playoff. Notre Dame is set to face off against Ohio State in the CFP National Championship on Jan. 20. Freeman, 39, was selected by the Bears in the fifth round of the 2009 NFL Draft. He has compiled a 33-9 record as head coach of the Irish since the end of the 2021 season.
  • The Bears are scheduled to interview Vikings DC Brian Flores, Commanders OC Kliff Kingsbury, Ravens OC Todd Monken and Steelers OC Arthur Smith next week for their vacant head coach position, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported.
  • Chicago has completed an interview with former Commanders and Panthers head coach Ron Rivera for its vacant HC position.
