Klein announced his retirement from the NFL on Tuesday. Klein spent 11 seasons in the NFL, totaling 465 tackles and 15.5 sacks.

- RB Ty Johnson is sitting out practice with a hamstring injury, per local reporters.
- OL Alec Anderson is recovering at a hospital and expected to be released later Tuesday after he suffered heat-related illness symptoms following practice, the team announced. He was said to be in good spirits after talking to head coach Sean McDermott and others.

- RB Rashaad Penny was placed on the reserve/retired list. Penny, 28, was set to enter his seventh NFL season and his first with Carolina. He played five years with the Seahawks and one season with the Eagles, totaling 2,178 yards from scrimmage and 14 total TDs on 376 touches. Penny led the league with 6.3 rushing yards per attempt in 2021.
