OTHER NEWS

The NFL sent a memo to clubs regarding tweaking minor aspects of the new kickoff rule, NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero reported. No substantive changes are expected before or during the 2024 season. Among the tweaks:

  • Teams can elect to tack on penalty yardage to the end of the play for certain fouls, rather than re-kicking.
  • The ball must be kicked off a tee except on a declared onside kick.
