The New England Patriots are keeping Mac Jones’ tutor in Foxborough.

The Pats agreed to a two-year contract with backup quarterback Brian Hoyer, his agent announced Monday morning.

The 36-year-old is essentially a player-coach at this stage of his 14-year NFL career. Hoyer backed up Jones last season, appearing in five games and attempting 11 passes. He last started a game in 2020 for New England -- a 26-10 loss at Kansas City.

Hoyer was a priority for the Pats to retain to ensure Jones is supported by a veteran presence who can help the young QB in the film room.

New England is likewise re-signing kicker Nick Folk to a two-year, $5 million extension that includes $2.19 million guaranteed and is a $5.6 million max deal with incentives, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.

The Patriots are also re-signing offensive lineman James Ferentz, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport confirmed.

Roster moves

• The Arizona Cardinals and running back James Conner have agreed to a three-year, $21 million extension, Rapoport reported. The team also announced it has re-signing backup quarterback Colt McCoy to a two-year deal, linebacker Dennis Gardeck to a three-year contract and defensive lineman Michael Dogbe to a one-year deal.
• The Atlanta Falcons and left tackle Jake Matthews have agreed to terms on a three-year extension that will pay him $52.5 million over the next three years, Rapoport reported.
• The Buffalo Bills released starting right tackle Daryl Williams. The 29-year-old started all 33 games for Buffalo over the past two years. Williams had two seasons left on a three-year deal signed last offseason, but none of his salary was guaranteed. The Bills are signing center Mitch Morse to a two-year, $19.5 million extension with $12 million guaranteed, NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. Morse, who is now under contract through 2024, will see his pay increase from $8.5 million to $11.25 million for 2022. The team later announced the extension. The Bills announced the signing of former Titans guard Rodger Saffold, who earned his first Pro Bowl selection in 2021. They also agreed to a two-year contract with former Commanders defensive tackle Tim Settle, per Garafolo.
• The Carolina Panthers are expected to sign offensive lineman Austin Corbett, who started every game last season for the Super Bowl-champion Los Angeles Rams, to a three-year deal worth $29.25 million, per Garafolo. The Panthers are also signing former Cowboys and Vikings safety Xavier Woods to a three-year, $15.75 million deal, Rapoport reported. The team also released pass rusher Morgan Fox and cornerback A.J. Bouye.
• The Chicago Bears are expected to sign former Bengals defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi to a three-year deal worth $40.5 million, per Rapoport. The Bears released defensive tackle Eddie Goldman.
• The Cincinnati Bengals are expected to sign former Buccaneers guard Alex Cappa to a four-year, $40 million deal, NFL Network's James Palmer reported. The Bengals are also re-signing defensive tackle B.J. Hill to a three-year deal worth $30 million, including $15 million in the first year.
• The Cleveland Browns are releasing wide receiver Jarvis Landry, who had permission to seek a trade, Rapoport reported. The Browns agreed to a one-year deal with defensive tackle Taven Bryan worth up to $5 million, Garafolo reported via Bryan's agent.
• The Dallas Cowboys are restructuring Demarcus Lawrence's deal, giving him a new three-year, $40 million contract with $30 million fully guaranteed, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported. The Cowboys also agreed to re-sign long snapper Jake McQuaide to a one-year contract, per Rapoport.
• The Denver Broncos signed guard Ben Braden and offensive tackle Calvin Anderson. The team also agreed to terms with former 49ers DT D.J. Jones on three-year, $30 million deal, Rapoport reported.
• The Detroit Lions are re-signing quarterback Tim Boyle to a one-year, $2 million deal, per Garafolo. The backup QB gets $1.75 million guaranteed and can earn an extra $500,000 in incentives. The team also announced it has re-signed linebacker Alex Anzalone, safety Jalen Elliott, linebacker Shaun Dion Hamilton and safety C.J. Moore.
• The Green Bay Packers agreed to terms with pass rusher Preston Smith on a four-year, $52.5 million extension through 2026, Rapoport reported. The Packers are also expected to re-sign All-Pro linebacker De'Vondre Campbell to a five-year, $50 million deal, per Rapoport. Pro Bowl pass rusher Za'Darius Smith and offensive tackle Billy Turner have been released.
• The Houston Texans re-signed veteran tight end Antony Auclair, per Pelissero. The Texans are re-signing safety Terrence Brooks to a one-year deal for $2 million, Rapoport reported via agent Drew Rosenhaus. Houston has also agreed to terms with offensive linemen Justin Britt and A.J. Cann, Rapoport reported. Cann's deal is for two years and $10.5 million with $4.5 million fully guaranteed, per Pelissero.
• The Indianapolis Colts are re-signing tight end Mo Alie-Cox to a three-year, $18 million deal, Pelissero reported.
• The Jacksonville Jaguars are signing guard Brandon Scherff, wideouts Christian Kirk and Zay Jones, tight end Evan Engram, linebacker Foye Oluokun and defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi, per NFL Media reporters.
• The Kansas City Chiefs have tried to reach an agreement with running back Darrel Williams ahead of the negotiating window that opens Monday but the sides haven't struck a deal, Garafolo reported, per sources. Kansas City is signing former Texans safety Justin Reid to a three-year, $31.5 million deal, per Rapoport and Pelissero.
• The Los Angeles Chargers are expected to sign former Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson to a five-year, $82.5 million deal, per Rapoport. Los Angeles is also expected to sign Rams DT Sebastian Joseph-Day to a three-year deal worth $24 million, Rapoport reported. The Chargers are also expected to sign defensive tackle Austin Johnson.
• The Los Angeles Rams are signing offensive tackle Joe Noteboom to a three-year deal with a base value of $40 million that includes $25 million guaranteed, Rapoport reported. Noteboom, who started two games in the Rams' Super Bowl season and played in 15, filled in for Andrew Whitworth, who is still mulling retirement, and now has a deal Rapoport added has a max value of $47.5 million. L.A. announced it agreed to terms with center Brian Allen on a three-year contract. Allen started 16 games for the Rams during the regular season ahead of their Super Bowl run. The team also announced it has re-signed offensive lineman Coleman Shelton.
• The Miami Dolphins reached an agreement with pass rusher Emmanuel Ogbah on a four-year deal worth $65 million, with $32 million guaranteed, Rapoport reported. The Dolphins also have an agreement on a two-year deal with running back Chase Edmonds worth $12.6 million with $6.1 million guaranteed, per Rapoport and NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe. Miami is signing former Cowboys wideout Cedrick Wilson to a three-year, $22.8 million deal with $12.75 million fully guaranteed, per NFL Media reporters. The Dolphins are signing veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater to a one-year deal, per Pelissero.
• The Minnesota Vikings are tendering kicker Greg Joseph, who will earn $2.433 million, Rapoport reported via Joseph's agent. The Vikings are signing defensive tackle Harrison Phillips, formerly with the Bills, to a three-year, $19.5 million contract, Garafolo reported. The Vikings plan to release DT Michael Pierce, Rapoport reported. The team attempted to retain Pierce with a "moderate" pay cut and then attempted to trade him, but is now releasing him, Rapoport added.
• The New Orleans Saints are placing a second-round tender on wideout/returner Deonte Harty, per Pelissero.
• The New York Giants have agreed to terms with former Colts guard Mark Glowinski on a three-year, $20 million deal with $11.4 million guaranteed, Rapoport reported. Further bolstering the offensive line, the Giants are also signing former Bills offensive lineman Jon Feliciano to play center, Garafolo reported. The team also signed receiver Robert Foster and re-signed wideout C.J. Board.
• The New York Jets are signing guard Laken Tomlinson to a three-year deal worth $40 million, per Rapoport and Garafolo. The Jets are re-signing wideout Braxton Berrios to a two-year, $12 million deal, per NFL Network's Mike Giardi. New York is re-signing veteran running back Tevin Coleman, per Pelissero. The Jets are also signing former Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah to a three-year deal worth $24 million, per Rapoport and Garafolo.
• The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed to terms with pass rusher Haason Reddick on a two-year three-year deal with a max value of $49.5 million and $30 million fully guaranteed, per Garafolo.
• The Pittsburgh Steelers have reached agreement on a two-year deal with quarterback Mitchell Trubisky, per Garafolo. The Steelers are re-signing offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor to a three-year, $29.25 million deal with $20 million guaranteed, Garafolo and NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala reported. The team later announced the three-year signing. Pittsburgh also signed cornerback Arthur Maulet to a two-year contract. Pittsburgh is placing a restricted free agent tender on defensive back Marcus Allen, per Rapoport.
• The San Francisco 49ers are signing former Chiefs cornerback Charvarius Ward to a three-year, $40.5 million deal, Rapoport reported. Ward played the previous four seasons with the Chiefs and is coming off a 12-start season in which he had 67 tackles and 10 passes defensed.
• The Seattle Seahawks agreed to terms with safety Quandre Diggs on a three-year deal worth $40 million, Rapoport reported. They're also re-signing defensive tackle Al Woods, per Pelissero. Seattle is also bringing back cornerback Sidney Jones on a one-year, $3.6 million deal, per Garafolo. The Seahawks are re-signing tight end Will Dissly to a three-year, $24 million deal, per Pelissero.
• The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are re-signing cornerback Carlton Davis to a three-year, $45 million deal, Rapoport reported. The Bucs also announced the official re-signing of center Ryan Jensen.
• The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms on a one-year extension with tight end Geoff Swaim, who set career highs with 31 receptions and three touchdown catches. Tennessee is also re-signing center Ben Jones to a two-year, $14 million deal, per Rapoport.

Retirement news

• Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers guard Ali Marpet will stay retired despite Tom Brady's announcement that he'll return for a 23rd season, Garafolo reported, per Marpet's agent. Marpet announced his retirement on Feb. 27, nearly a month after the QB initially announced his retirement.
