Nick Foles hears the consternation about his play this season and knows he needs to improve.
"I'm the decision-maker on offense," Foles said, per ESPN.com. "I have the ball every single play. Yes, I have to do a better job. Words can't describe it. I have to go out here and keep working. It doesn't feel good at times. You have to keep working on fundamentals and on decision-making. I'm going to keep working, and I'm going to fix it.
"My words don't mean anything. I have to go out here, and I have to prove it."
Foles' game film this season belies his stats. The quarterback often backpedals in the face of pressure, throws off his back foot and makes a couple boneheaded throws a week. He has tossed nine interceptions and has 12 total turnovers through seven games.
It's fine for Foles to admit he needs to improve; it's another thing for him to actually show it on the field. Even Chip Kelly can't hide his quarterback forever. Unfortunately for the Eagles' quarterback, he'll attempt to make progress against J.J. Watt and a mean Houston Texans pass rushon Sunday.
