Just hours after Alabama wide receiver Kenny Bell announced on Twitter that he is finished with football, Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said he expects the fifth-year senior back at practice Wednesday. According to al.com, Saban praised Bell's competitiveness in his Tuesday news conference, and said he gave Bell a personal day.
"Kenny's a fifth-year senior, he's done a great job in this program, he's played a lot of good football for us, he's made a lot of big plays, he's been a good teammate to a lot of guys on the team," Saban said. "He's certainly somebody I have a tremendous amount of respect for as a competitor. Sometimes we have personal things that we need to get ironed out.
"He had a day today to do that so there's really nothing else to talk about when it comes to that."
It appears Bell agrees with his coach -- he Tweeted this Tuesday night:
Bell met with Saban about his decision, and Saban expressed his wish for Bell to remain part of the team, Tidesports.com's Cecil Hurt reported via Twitter.
It's hard to imagine a sit-down with Saban didn't prove very persuasive.
