Injuries and news we're monitoring around the league on this Week 5 Sunday:
- Minnesota Vikings star running back Dalvin Cookleft Sunday night's game against the Seattle Seahawks early in the second half with a groin injury. Cook returned to the game, but his stat line remained at 17 carries for 65 yards, which is what he left the game with. Following the Vikings' loss, coach Mike Zimmer told the media Cook will undergo an MRI. The Vikings are signing defensive end Jordan Brailford off the Washington Football Team practice squad, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported.
- Arizona Cardinals edge rusher Chandler Jones did not return against the Jets after suffering a biceps injury. Coach Kliff Kingsbury said the injury is potentially season-ending.
- Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was carted off the field after suffering a compound ankle fracture and dislocation against the Giants. He will undergo surgery Sunday night. Defensive tackle Trysten Hill suffered a knee injury and is questionable to return.
- Washington quarterback Kyle Allen suffered an arm injury in Sunday's loss to the Rams, opening the door for Alex Smith to take his first regular-season snaps since he suffered a gruesome leg injury in November of 2018. Allen was cleared to return in the third quarter but Smith remained in the game.
- Kansas City Chiefs guard Kelechi Osemele was carted off the field and did not return after suffering knee injuries against the Raiders. Coach Andy Reid said Osemele tore tendons in both knees. Wide receiver Sammy Watkins was exited early with a hamstring injury.
- Las Vegas Raiders defensive back Lamarcus Joyner suffered a hamstring injury against the Chiefs. Defensive end Carl Nassib suffered a foot injury.
- Carolina Panthers cornerback Donte Jackson suffered a toe injury against the Falcons and did not return. Defensive end Brian Burns suffered a concussion. Defensive tackle Kawann Short exited early after suffering a shoulder injury.
- Atlanta Falcons defensive end Takkarist McKinley suffered a groin injury against the Panthers.
- Jacksonville Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard was ruled out against the Texans after suffering a core muscle injury. Tight end Tyler Eifert injured his neck.
- Pittsburgh Steelers guard David DeCastro suffered an abdomen injury and was ruled out against the Eagles. Wide receiver Diontae Johnson was ruled out with a back injury.
- Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green suffered a hamstring injury against Baltimore. Defensive end Sam Hubbard was ruled out with a left elbow injury. Defensive tackle D.J. Reader was ruled out with a quad injury. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Pelissero reported that Reader's quad injury is expected to knock him out for the remainder of the season.
- Philadelphia Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson was carted off with an ankle injury against the Steelers.
- Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Denico Autry suffered an ankle injury against the Browns.
- New York Giants linebacker Lorenzo Carter suffered an Achilles injury against the Cowboys and was ruled out.
- Cleveland Browns guard Wyatt Teller exited early against the Colts after suffering a calf injury. Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield looked to be ailing in Sunday's win, but X-rays came back negative on his ribs, Pelissero reported.
- Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Anthony Rush (knee) is questionable to return to Sunday night's game.
