Rolando McClain is back with the Oakland Raiders ... at least technically.
The Raiders reinstated the linebacker to their active roster Monday after he served a two-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. The Raiders also promoted cornerback Chimdi Chekwa from the practice squad and released cornerback Ron Bartell and fullback Owen Schmitt.
McClain got into an argument with Raiders coach Dennis Allen before being kicked out of practice Nov. 28. The team told McClain to stay home the next day. McClain wrote on Facebook that his time in Oakland was done, but the team likely decided that was too kind an outcome for their former first-round draft pick's maleficence.
McClain was not at practice Monday and doesn't have to report to the team until he meets with Allen, who was in Texas for his father's funeral. According to the Raiders' media release, Allen will meet with McClain to discuss his role "at some point after his return."
