Green Bay Packers safety Nick Collins has spent much of his time waiting since suffering a season-ending neck injury in a Week 2 win against the Carolina Panthers. He'll have to wait a little while longer before deciding whether or not to continue his football career.
In March, Collins plans to meet with the surgeon who performed his spinal fusion surgery to determine how he is recovering. Collins, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, is prepared to retire if there are any signs of complications.
"I always am going to say I'm going to come back, but at the end of the day, I still have to make a decision," Collins told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. "I have to make sure everything's all right with the team doctor, the doctor that did the surgery, my family, my friends."
Collins said he received positive feedback after meeting with doctors in December.
