The Green Bay Packers' convincing victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night did nothing to quiet the ongoing war of words between the teams.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Sunday night that several Packers players complained after the game about the Falcons hitting them after the whistle.
"I don't know what the deal is. I think it's a lack of talent on their part. We didn't worry about any of that. We came out and played our game."
"It's unnecessary," Packers defensive end Ryan Pickett said. "They call it playing physical. But it's after the whistle. It's not physical. We know it watching tape that they like to hit after the whistle. You have to watch yourself around the piles. They point at you if you react. We just felt like if we just punch them up front at the start it would end that."
The bad blood goes back to the Packers' 48-21 victory in last season's playoffs, after which Atlanta wide receiver Roddy White said he believed the Falcons still were the better team. The Packers didn't appreciate that comment and used it as motivation this week.
