FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots have signed fourth-round draft pick Jonathan Wilhite.
The Patriots did not release the terms of the deal reached Thursday.
Wilhite, a cornerback at Auburn University, played 34 games, made 101 tackles and three interceptions.
New England drafted the 24-year-old player as a potential replacement for departing defensive back Asante Samuel or Randall Gay.
Wilhite is the third of seven Patriots draft picks to sign prior to July 21, the reporting date for the team's rookies. Linebacker Bo Ruud and wide receiver Matthew Slater have also agreed to terms with the team.
