Penn State's Allen Robinson to decide over Christmas break

Penn State junior wide receiver Allen Robinson set school single-season records for receptions and receiving yards this fall. The question for Penn State is whether he'll stay in school to try to break those marks next season.

Robinson told the Big Ten Network on Monday that he will discuss turning pro with his family over Christmas break, then announce his decision. Penn State hadn't made him available to the media since early November.

Working with true freshman quarterback Christian Hackenberg this season, Robinson had 97 catches for 1,432 yards and six touchdowns. He also stands second in school history in career receptions (177, two behind leader Deon Butler) and third in career yards (2,479; Bobby Engram leads with 3,026), and that's with catching just three passes for 29 yards as a true freshman in 2011. He had eight 100-yard games this season, another single-season school record.

His work with Hackenberg this season bodes well for their future. Robinson (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) has an excellent size/speed mix, and has proven to be effective as a deep threat and also on wide receiver screens. Former teammate Matt McGloin, now with the Oakland Raiders, said earlier this season that he thought Robinson would turn pro.
