The news out of Seahawks camp in Renton, Washington is that there is no news on the holdout of safety Kam Chancellor.
"I don't know that we're any closer but I know that we're all working, working to stay connected," head coach Pete Carroll told reporters after practice Saturday when asked about the strong safety. "There's still stuff to be talked out."
Chancellor wants to rework the four-year, $28 million extension he signed two seasons ago. Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and linebacker Bobby Wagner have each inked big-time extensions this offseason, and running back Marshawn Lynch was rewarded with additional money after a brief camp holdout last year.
On Saturday, Carroll was asked if the ongoing holdout surprises him: "No, because he's very strong minded. He's wanted to make a very clear statement, which he's doing."
