Maybe it's just one former college coach looking out for another, but Pete Carroll is siding with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Greg Schiano on this whole Victory Formation fracas.
"I'm glad it was brought up like this," the Seattle Seahawks coach told reporters Thursday, "because I think it was a competitor competing, and I don't think there is anything wrong with that. That's exactly what you should do, try to win the game. And there was a chance to win the game on that play, and I thought Greg did exactly the right thing. I would do exactly the same thing in the same situation."
Carroll is the latest to offer his opinion on the brush-up between Schiano and New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin after the Buccaneers attempted to knock down Eli Manning during a kneel-down in the game's final seconds.
People are split on this issue, but I can't understand how the Giants -- like 31 other teams -- talk about playing 60 minutes of football, then ask the opponent to play 59. Expect mayhem until the final whistle.
