Terrelle Pryor is preparing for his football future by working out with former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Ken Anderson. That might be news to George Whitfield, who earlier this week said he expected to guide the former Ohio State quarterback as he prepares for an NFL supplemental draft.
Anderson confirmed Wednesday to *The Cincinnati Enquirer* that he's working with Pryor, who last month announced he was leaving Ohio State in the wake of a memorabilia-for-cash-and-tattoos scandal that brought an NCAA investigation and led to coach Jim Tressel's resignation.
Pro Football Talk first reported Wednesday that Anderson, 62, was working with Pryor, and the former Bengals quarterback told The Enquirer that he has been guiding the young signal-caller the past couple of weeks. Anderson was with Pryor in Bradenton, Fla., for Tuesday and Wednesday's NFL Players Association-sponsored rookie symposium, and they will practice the next couple of weeks in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., said the four-time Pro Bowl selection, who played in Cincinnati from 1971 through 1986.
"I think he's an interesting kid. His throwing motion and arm is good, and he can make all the throws,” Anderson said. "We're working on a lot of different things right now, like NFL concepts, the passing tree and footwork. He does a nice job understanding things and how it translates."
Whitfield, who has worked with Ben Roethlisberger and Philip Rivers, is helping to prepare Cam Newton, whom the Carolina Panthers made the No. 1 overall selection in April's NFL Draft, for his rookie season.
"It is my understanding I am heading (to Miami to work with Pryor)," Whitfield told the *Canton Repository*. "I look forward to working with him. ... It's a challenge to me. I know Terrelle wants to be as good as he can be."
