Anderson made a statement:Derek Anderson, who's competing with Brady Quinn for the Browns' quarterback job, was given the start and made the most of it. He played the entire first quarter and led the offense to its first touchdown since November. Anderson finished with 130 yards on 8-of-13 passing and left the game with the Browns ahead 20-0.

Detroit Lions vs.
Sunday, Noon ET
Matthew Stafford needs more time to get comfortable: The No. 1 overall draft pick struggled in his first preseason start for the Lions. He threw an interception on his first pass, later overthrew several of his receivers and then fumbled a handoff to RB Kevin Smith. Stafford finished with 34 yards on 5-of-13 passing in six series.
Joshua Cribbs is still a game-changer: The Browns' speedy, elusive return man started the game with a bang, taking the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. Unfortunately for Cleveland, the play was nullified because of a penalty. But later in the first quarter, Cribbs ran back a punt 84 yards for a touchdown that gave the Browns a 17-0 lead.
