Quick take: Seahawks dominate 49ers

It was over when ...
Seahawks defensive end Rocky Bernard knocked out 49ers quarterback Alex Smith on the third play from scrimmage. Not that Trent Dilfer isn't a capable backup quarterback, but the 49ers never seemed to be able to muster much offense after Bernard's KO, as the Seahawks cruised to an easy victory.

Game ball
Seahawks defensive back Marcus Trufant had a pair of interceptions, the first coming on the first play of the second half to set up Marcus Pollard's touchdown. His second interception came late in the third quarter with the 49ers in good field position near midfield.

Key stat
The Seahawks had six first-half sacks. Former 49ers linebacker Julian Peterson had three of them.

Noteworthy
Niners running back Frank Gore finished short of 100 yards for the fourth consecutive week; he gained 79 yards and had two costly first-half fumbles. Gore did look more comfortable in the passing game, as he notched three receptions for 42 yards. ... Former Seahawks receiver Darrell Jackson had only three receptions for 38 yards while Seattle's Deion Branch surpassed 100 receiving yards for the second time in three weeks, finishing with seven receptions for 130 yards.
