Quick Take: Seahawks soar past Ravens

Ravens rookie QB Troy Smith fumbled on the Ravens' third possession of the second half. The ball was recovered by the Seahawks, and four plays later Josh Brown nailed a 39-yard field goal to put Seattle up 27-0 in front of a raucous crowd at rainy Qwest Field.

Game balls
Seattle RB Shaun Alexander, the 2005 league MVP, struggled with injuries this season but put together his best game since Week 4. He rushed for 73 yards on 13 carries and was part of a rushing attack became only the third team this season to rush for 100 yards against the Ravens. Alexander even took a screen pass 14 yards for his first touchdown reception of the season and first since Week 16 in 2005.

Key stat
Smith made his first career start and had a rough time. He finished 16 of 33 for 199 yards and lost two fumbles. Before Smith hit Derrick Mason with a 79-yard scoring strike in the foruth quarter to avert the shutout, the Ravens' offense had punted nine times and hadn't penetrated beyond the Seattle 35-yard line.
