» Who said the New York Jets were in trouble on offense? After the first-team offense was blanked for the entirety of the preseason, Mark Sanchez & Co. set a franchise record for points scored in a season opener.

» Apologists pointed to a lingering rib issue as the reason behind Ryan Fitzpatrick's rapid decline last season. There's no crutch to explain Sunday's woeful performance (18-of-32 passing, 195 yards, 3 TD, 3 INT) against the Jets. The final stats don't tell the story.

» Call it a statement game from Sanchez. After an ugly early interception, Sanchez (19-of-27 passing, 266 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT) put on a clinic, including two scoring strikes to rookie wideout Stephen Hill.

» The debut of the Tebowcat was a bit of dud. Tim Tebow opened the game as a slot receiver, but worked mostly behind center on a handful plays. He didn't attempt a pass and finished with 11 yards on five carries. He did recover an onside kick.

» A bad day got worse for the Bills when starting tailback Fred Jackson went down with a in the second quarter. C.J. Spiller replaced Jackson and broke two long runs, finishing with 169 rushing yards and a score.

» All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis was forced out of the game midway through the fourth quarter after being accidentally kicked in the head by teammate Bart Scott.
