Carlos Rogers' season didn't pan out like the Oakland Raiders planned.
The team announced the cornerback was placed on injured reserve with a knee injury, ending his season.
The Raiders signed Rogers to a one-year deal as part of their offseason revamp after he was cut by the San Francisco 49ers.
Rogers played in just seven games and struggled during his time on the field. He will finish the season with just two passes defensed, no interceptions and 35 tackles. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the 80th-rated corner during the first eight weeks of the season.
The 33-year-old corner will be a free agent again in the offseason.
The Raiders signed running back George Atkinson III to the active roster in place of Rogers. With Latavius Murray (concussion) out, Atkinson will likely be the third back behind Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew.
