Ravens' Reed would 'love' for Roethlisberger to throw 50 times

Ravens safety Ed Reed doesn't lack for confidence, with a key matchup against the Steelers looming.

Ben Roethlisberger threw the ball 50 times during the Steelers' 25-17 victory over the Patriots last week. And Reed, the NFL's active leader in interceptions with 56, would welcome the Steelers employing a similar strategy Sunday night.

"I'll love for Roethlisberger to throw the ball 50 times," Reed said Friday, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "That will be more opportunities for us. So, if they're going to throw it, throw it."

Sounds like a challenge to us. Reed is of the belief the Steelers willfully throw in his direction.

"It's been their game plan for a while to challenge me and shake me up," he said. "I don't know the method to their madness. It's all good."

Reed compared himself to greatness from another sport in explaining his mind-set against Pittsburgh.

"Detroit used to try to take Michael Jordan out when he went to the hole, but he kept coming back," he said. "Pittsburgh knows they are going to get a full game worth of play from me. They know if they don't account for me, it's going to cost them."

Like we said, Ed Reed doesn't lack for confidence.
