Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews was involved in a car crash on Wednesday, and fortunately he escaped unharmed.
The collision occurred during Andrews' commute to the team's Under Armour Performance Center early Wednesday morning, the team announced. The tight end was evaluated by medical staff at the team's facility and did not sustain any apparent injuries, and he later joined his teammates for morning meetings.
"He’s feeling good," Ravens head coach John Harbaugh told reporters following Wednesday's practice. "He came out of it with nothing at all, not a scrape."
Andrews was already scheduled for a rest day on Wednesday, per the team, and is expected to return to practice in the coming days.
"I appreciate everyone's thoughts and well wishes," Andrews said in a statement released by the team. "This is a great reminder about the importance of wearing seatbelts and remaining alert while driving a car."
Andrews has certainly experienced injury-related challenges in recent years. The three-time Pro Bowler and 2021 All-Pro dealt with quadriceps and ankle injuries in 2023, limiting him to 10 games played. He's played a full season just twice in his career, but has consistently worked toward being as available as possible in order to fill an essential role in Baltimore's offense.
Luckily for him, it appears as though his Wednesday morning accident won't get in his way.
