RCN to carry new NFL RedZone channel

RCN also renews long-term agreement with NFL Network

RCN has agreed to carry NFL Network's new NFL RedZone channel this season, it was announced Tuesday. Starting Sunday, Sept. 13, NFL RedZone will be available through RCN in New York and other cities.

"We are thrilled to announce RCN will carry our new NFL RedZone channel to fans in New York and other cities," said NFL Network president & CEO Steve Bornstein.

"We are pleased to renew our long-term partnership with the NFL Network," said RCN president & CEO Peter Aquino. "Our agreement allows us to offer our customers the best in football every Sunday. And, with the addition of the NFL RedZone to our sports programming, our subscribers won't miss a minute of the most exciting, live football action."

RCN joins the growing list of distributors to add NFL RedZone channel for their fans this season. RCN subscribers in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, New York City, Boston and Chicago can watch the NFL RedZone in high definition (HD) on channel 684 and channel 360 (standard). The channel will also air on channel 200 (HD) and channel 148 (standard) in Lehigh Valley, PA.

NFL RedZone is hosted by Scott Hanson from the new state-of-the-art NFL RedZone studio at NFL Network's headquarters in Los Angeles and debuted on Sept. 13, the first Sunday of the 2009 NFL regular season.
