The Philadelphia Eagles are telling teams they are open to trading four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Asante Samuel, according to league sources.
Samuel is likely in his last year with the Eagles and would ultimately be replaced by Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
The Eagles are loaded with 2012 draft selections and might choose to seek players over more picks. They're hurting for linebackers and linemen on both sides of the ball, especially on offense.
The odds of a trade getting done before Tuesday's 4 p.m. ET trade deadline don't appear high, but it's possible with the Eagles ascertaining what value could be had for Samuel.
