The Detroit Lions announced Thursday that they have signed free-agent wide receiver Ronald Curry and fullback Terrelle Smith to one-year contracts.
Financial terms of the deals weren't disclosed.
Curry spent his previous seven NFL seasons with the Oakland Raiders after being a seventh-round draft pick by the team in 2002. Curry's best season came in 2006, when he played in all 16 games, making four starts, and led the Raiders with career highs in receptions (62) and yards (727).
Last season, Curry played in 13 games, with 10 starts, and had just 19 receptions for 181 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Raiders to release him. He has 193 receptions for 2,347 yards and 13 touchdowns in his career.
Smith, a nine-year NFL veteran, spent the previous two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, and he also has played with the New Orleans Saints (2000-03) and Cleveland Browns (2004-06). He has 185 rushing yards, 354 receiving yards and three touchdowns in his career.
