Washington Redskins wide receiver Santana Moss is out for at least one week after breaking a bone in his left hand during Sunday's 33-20 loss to the Carolina Panthers, coach Mike Shanahan said.
Moss didn't return after leaving the game against the Panthers and had the hand heavily wrapped as he spent the remainder of the afternoon on the sideline with his helmet off. He had told The Washington Post he didn't have a timetable for a return, and only knew that he had sustained a broken bone.
Shanahan announced Moss' status during his postgame news conference.
The Redskins went to a combination of Jabar Gaffney, Anthony Armstrong and Donte Stallworth after Moss left. Moss finished with two receptions for 17 yards.
