Barber, who has 43 interceptions and 913 tackles in 15 seasons with the Buccaneers, agreed to return for another campaign earlier in March.

The 36-year-old Barber also signed a one-year contract after the 2010 season, which was worth $4 million. According to the newspaper, Barber and Tampa Bay general manager Mark Dominik have arranged to revisit his status from season to season. Barber, who had surgery on his injured arm this offseason, had previously indicated that he was considering retirement.

Barber has started 199 straight games, making him the current active leader in that category.
