Darrelle Revis' season is almost certainly over for the New York Jets. But the star cornerback is making sure his fate is sealed.
Revis will seek a second opinion on the left knee injured during Sunday's 23-20 win over the Miami Dolphins, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.

The decision is more about standard procedure than the hope Revis' injury isn't a serious as initially diagnosed. According to Mehta, the Jets encourage their players to seek a second opinion for major injuries.
Rex Ryan announced during his Monday press conference that Revis had torn his anterior cruciate ligament. The somber coach acknowledged the injury would require surgery.
The silver lining for the Jets? The surgery and rehab timetable will put Revis comfortably on track to be ready for start of the 2013 season.
