Can the NFL handle two Gronks? Either way, make room for another.
Kansas State fullback Glenn Gronkowski, the younger brother of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski, will forego his final season of NCAA eligibility to apply for early entry into the 2016 NFL Draft. Along with being an elite tight end, Rob Gronkowski is as well one of the NFL's most colorful personalities. Glenn's reputation, along with being a fine fullback for the Wildcats, is known to be the fun-loving type, as well.
Gronkowski's father confirmed the news to Sports Illustrated.
The younger Gronkowski carried 11 times for 45 yards this season, but was a bit more explosive as a receiver (five catches, 76 yards). He closed his college career as a junior Saturday in a 45-23 loss to Arkansas in the Liberty Bowl.
Of course, he's not the only brother of Rob's that has reached the NFL. Dan Gronkowski played with four NFL clubs over three seasons as a tight end from the University of Maryland, drafted by the Detroit Lions in 2009. Chris Gronkowski played briefly with the Dallas Cowboys as a running back in 2010.
As for his draft stock, Gronkowski plays the most devalued position in the game -- many teams don't even employ a true fullback -- but if he's able to contribute on special teams, his NFL future would be more secure.
And you can bet he'd add some fun to any locker room, as well.
