New York Jets linebacker Bart Scott recently underwent an operation to clean out bone chips from his elbow, The Star-Ledger reported Monday, citing two people with knowledge of the procedure.
The operation has a recovery time of just a few weeks, and is not expected to affect Scott's readiness for the team's offseason program, scheduled to begin April 16.
Scott, a 10-year veteran, is entering the fourth year of a six-year deal with the Jets. He had 66 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 2011.
