A couple of Green Bay Packers linebackers will be dipping into their Super Bowl money to pay NFL fines this week.
A.J. Hawk was fined $10,000 by the league for showing his middle finger during last Sunday's win over the Rams, Fox Sports Insider and NFL Network contributor Jay Glazer reported Friday.
Hawk explained after the game that the gesture, delivered to his own sideline, was a "running joke."
"It was just, I guess, a bad joke. I definitely won't do it again," he said.
Clay Matthews, meanwhile, told a cable television show that he was fined $5,000 for wearing bright yellow shoes in the Rams game, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
