Report: UCF's Breshad Perriman visiting with Eagles

UCF wide receiver Breshad Perriman, who ran a sub-4.3 40-yard dash at his pro day last week, will be visiting the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday.

Profootballtalk.com reported the news, and said it is one of 18 visits for Perriman, who visited the Detroit Lions earlier this week.

The Eagles, who need a wide receiver, pick 20th in the first round, and Perriman (6-foot-2, 212 pounds) is considered a likely first-round pick. Is 20th too high? Perriman ranks 30th overall -- and sixth among receivers -- on NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah's updated list of the top 50 players.

As it stands now, the Eagles' top four receivers appear to be Miles Austin and Riley Cooper and second-year pros Jordan Matthews and Josh Huff. But is there a true go-to guy in that group? Perriman's size, speed and pedigree (his dad was a longtime NFL receiver) might lead teams to think he eventually can be a No. 1 receiver.

Cornerback, safety and an edge rusher also would seem to be key positional needs for the Eagles. The top four edge rushers likely would be gone by the time the Eagles pick at No. 20. There is just one safety -- Alabama's Landon Collins -- who is worthy of a first-round pick, and he, too, could be gone. Thus, the Eagles' first-rounder could come down to a decision between a corner and a wide receiver.
