Rob Gronkowski is ready to go.
The All-Pro tight end told reporters on Monday that he will be on the field when the New England Patriots open the regular season on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
"I'm ready to go," Gronkowski said, according to the Boston Herald. "I'll be playing."
The proclamation sticks with Gronkowski's statement in July that he plans to play all 16 games this season. Gronkowski spent the offseason rehabbing following reconstructive surgery on his right knee.
Gronkowski had not experienced any setbacks during training camp, making Monday's announcement somewhat expected. Still, it's fantastic news for a Patriots team that leans hard on the tight end's dynamic skill-set.
