McClain will be in Baltimore on Friday to take a physical and meet with coach John Harbaugh and general manager Ozzie Newsome, who will speak to McClain about the expectations they have for the former first-round draft pick who flamed out with the Raiders.
McClain cleared waivers Monday and immediately attracted the interest of five NFL teams, receiving three offers on Monday alone. It's likely each offer was similar to what the Ravens gave him -- a one-year, make-good deal.
This is a minor investment that could pay significant dividends ... if McClain gets his head on straight. Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun reported Wednesday that the Ravens' commitment to McClain will hinge on his "approach to football (and) life."
In other words, McClain is on a short leash.
