Russell Wilson was a human-highlight reel on Monday night against the Washington Redskins, rushing for more than 100 yards while making several other plays that no other quarterback in the league would even attempt, let alone succeed at.
After the Redskins' 27-17 loss at FedEx Field, veteran safety Ryan Clark paid Wilson an extremely high compliment.
"We got beat by a better team," Clark said, via The Washington Post. "We got beat by, as far as I'm concerned this weekend, the best player in the NFL. Russell Wilson made every play he had to make for his team to win, and we didn't."
Clark clarified his comments after several media outlets started to run with his quote.
Wilson completed 18 of 24 passes for 201 yards and two touchdown passes in addition to 122 rushing yards and another score. He became the first player in the long history of Monday Night Football to pass for over 200 yards and run for 100 more.
Wilson's game could have been even more special. Percy Harvin had three touchdowns called back on penalties, including two that would have counted as touchdown passes for Wilson.
